125 Year Anniversary
It is an exciting year for the School community as St Catherine’s celebrates its 125th anniversary. In 1896, our Founding Principal Miss Jeanie Hood, opened the doors to a girls’ school in Castlemaine, now known as St Catherine’ School. Miss Hood’s personal credo “we aim at turning out not only students but girls gifted mentally, morally, physically to be the woman of the future,” and we continue to realise this vision, 125 years later.
Throughout our 125th anniversary year in 2021, as well as many events and activities to commemorate the occasion, we will reflect back on our stories from the archives, share the achievements of many of our exceptional Old Girls as we journey back through the Nil Magnum Nisi Bonum project and introduce some of our remarkable old girls who will reflect on their life at St Catherine’s.
