ELC Update – Celebrating Mother’s Day
The children in the Early Learning Centre were delighted to host their Mums for very special Mother’s Day celebrations this week. Each class held their own celebration to mark this special occasion. Much discussion, planning and preparation has gone into these events as the children discussed arrangements, planned details for the morning and then prepared cards and gifts.
Excitement and love could be felt in each classroom as the children enjoyed sharing this special time with their Mums. Time was spent sharing stories, singing, and classroom experiences, with a little pampering. The celebrations also involved the children acknowledging their Mums with beautifully prepared cards and gifts. This is always a highlight of the year for the children and their mums, a time that creates wonderful memories.
We wish all of the Early Learning Centre mums a wonderful Mother’s Day with your families this Sunday.
Parent Participation
Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in many aspects of the Early Learning Centre programs. Each class has a parent roster where you are welcome to write your name down for a suitable morning to spend time assisting in the classroom. This is a great way to learn more about what is happening in the program and also to assist with various inquiries and projects.
We also seek parent assistance to help with our weekly Perceptual Motor Program (PMP). Please write your name on the PMP roster for a suitable date if you are able to help out.
Community Project – The Nappy Collective
This year we are partnering with a community led project known as ‘The Nappy Collective’. The organisation’s mission is to collect unused spare / leftover nappies from families who no longer require them to pass on to families in need who are suffering from ‘nappy stress’.
During the upcoming Nappy Drive from 7-21 May, a collection box will be placed in the ELC foyer for families to donate any unused spare or leftover nappies that you have. Please extend this invitation to family, friends and neighbours. We are able to accept disposable nappies of all sizes.
This is a wonderful community initiative that our children and families can get involved in. Through our early learning programs, we will be connecting the children with this project and discussing the importance of giving to and helping those in need.
We thank you in anticipation of your support of this project. If you would like to read more about ‘The Nappy Collective’, please click here.
