Barbreck Update – W7T3
Barbreck students have been working hard online over the past weeks and, despite the difficult circumstances, they have maintained positive outlooks towards their learning.
Junior School teachers have continued to explore lessons and activities to not only educate, but bring fun and joy into students’ lives. Along with Mathematics, English and specialist lessons, we have seen students experiment with cooking, craft and other projects to bring smiles to their faces.
Throughout each week, teachers endeavour to provide students with activities they can complete away from their computer or device.
Recently students participated in a scavenger hunt craft activity. Students were asked to search for several items, including: a hairpin, some string, leaves, a sticker, a plastic drink bottle and an old key. They were then asked to create a picture collage, a sculpture, or a mobile. Images of some of the final products from the hunt are provided below.
During Science Week, held during Week 6 of Term 3, students explored the 2021 theme, Food: Different by Design. Students were asked to create an artistic design, face, person, little critters or scene using fruits, vegetables and any other healthy foods.
Ensuring the criteria of sustainability was followed, the design had to be made to be eaten. There certainly were some delicious creations, view our Science Week image gallery below.
Students are congratulated on their efforts on each of these tasks and we look forward to providing more opportunities next week.
