School Dux Receives Top Award from Premier
2021 St Catherine’s School Dux, Emily Ryan added to her impressive list of academic achievements today, receiving the Premier’s VCE Award for excellence in Global Politics.
The top honour recognises outstanding VCE results and places Emily among the top VCE students in the state for 2021. Emily achieved a perfect Study Score of 50 in the Global Politics subject, along with an ATAR of 99.85 and additional perfect scores in Business Management and English.
“I am extremely honoured to receive this Award. To me, this Award is a clear testament to the hard work of my talented peers, who created a collaborative atmosphere, and to my fantastic Year 12 teachers, in particular Mr Gilby, whose passion for the subject and support for his students fostered an environment which undoubtedly brought the success that the Global Politics class achieved last year,” shared Emily.
St Catherine’s Head of Humanities, Mr Paul Gilby, congratulated Emily on her Award, recognising the many attributes that contributed to her success.
“Emily was highly engaged with the complex nature of the Global Politics subject from the very beginning. Her strong work ethic, study skills, critical thinking abilities and enthusiasm greatly assisted her in continuously improving how she learned and responded to political concepts and problems.
“The outstanding result that Emily attained reflected the intensity of her preparation across the entire year and in the final weeks before the exam, where Emily conferenced extensively about exam strategies and approaches that ultimately supported her overall achievement in the subject,” said Paul.
Congratulations Emily!
