Congratulations to St Catherine’s VCE Class of 2024!

VCE Results

We are delighted to congratulate the Class of 2024 for their outstanding achievements.

The legacy of this remarkable Cohort is one of integrity, kindness and a passion for learning and leadership. Their commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive School community with a shared sense of belonging has been nothing short of inspiring.

The Class of 2024 has been truly extraordinary group, led with distinction by School Co-Captains Alice Molnar and Scarlett Shelton along with the other student leaders. However, it has been the collective effort of the entire Year 12 Cohort that has been so impressive. Together, they have led this School during 2024. They have shown leadership and given us inspiration. They have shown us energy and given us laughter.

The 2024 Year 12 Cohort has achieved outstanding academic results across a broad range of subjects. The Median ATAR for the School is an exemplary 95.25; this is the highest Median ATAR on record for our School. The Median Study Score of 36 is also impressive, noting 31% of all Study Scores were above 40, placing the School, once again, among the best in the State.

Remarkably, of all students studying VCE English, 50% achieved a Study Score of 40 or above, placing these students in the Top 9% in the State. This is a significant result for the English Faculty and reflects the strength of the program in the Senior School; this is also the highest recorded English result at St Catherine’s.

“While we celebrate our high achievers, we are extremely proud of every single student. Each girl in the Class of 2024 has had their own unique journey throughout the year. Their journey is more than a set of numbers. I know how hard every girl has worked and it is this, more than final grades, which is important.”

2024 School Dux

Congratulations to our 2024 St Catherine’s School Dux, Millie Nilsen, who achieved an impressive 99.9 ATAR. Millie is also the Dux of French, Global Politics and Literature.

“It’s an absolute honour to be named the School Dux and to represent such an incredible and hardworking cohort of girls. Throughout school, and VCE in particular, I never once compared myself to others or fixated on numbers. Instead, I always tried to stay in my own lane whilst also acknowledging the many successes of the girls around me. I’m truly so honoured to be the School Dux and I wear the title with pride and gratitude.”

“In 2025, I hope to attend Melbourne University to study The Arts or Law and hopefully a Diploma in French. Thanks to my ATAR I have also received the Chancellor’s scholarship from Melbourne University and look forward to making the most of it by studying overseas, ideally in France.”

“From my first day at St Catherine’s in Prep I have felt supported, encouraged, and inspired. I have always been motivated by learning and education and have set myself goals academically that some would have considered overly idealistic. Yet my teachers at St Catherine’s and the broader St Catherine’s community never once doubted me. Over the years I have felt connected to many of my teachers and their genuine interest in my learning has driven me to be not only disciplined but also passionate and curious in all that I do.”

2024 Proxime Accessit to the Dux

We extend our congratulations to St Catherine’s School’s Proxime Accessit to the Dux, Rhea Werner, who achieved an equally impressive ATAR of 99.85. Rhea is also the Dux of English. Rhea is looking to pursue her studies overseas in 2025.

Rhea also has a passion for community service as evident with the creation of her own charity, Embrace Collective Youth Initiative where she campaigned for the removal of BMI from the national school curriculum. In 2023 she was awarded the Most Influential Asian Australian Award.

“I was skiing when I opened the results and felt on top of the world. I am so grateful for all the teachers and staff at St Cath’s. All the late-night emails and hallway chats or pre-exam pep talks truly made this possible, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have spent my formative years here.”
