2025 Student Executive
As our School Co-Captains Rachel Carton and Vinuki Thiseka (Vinuki) Ranatunga, along with Student Executive members Lilly Fogarty, Sophie Powell, Jessica Sibly, and Natalie Wang prepare to lead the School in 2025, they share their thoughts on leadership.
Rachel Carton “At St Catherine’s, we have great support around us, inspiring us to do what we love, consequently, allowing us to do what we want to do, and therefore get to live a life that we have imagined; and it is easy to take it for granted.” …a key part of my vision for 2025. I want to instil passion and enthusiasm in the younger Year levels by enhancing this journey of discovery. Because this opportunity is one, we are so fortunate to experience at St Catherine’s, and one I would love to support everyone on.” |
Vinuki Ranatunga “My vision for 2025 isn’t one set in stone. It isn’t a vision where every move, every goal, and every action has been spelled out. My vision for 2025 is quite literally a vision board in the making. However, what I do know with 100% certainty is that I want to give back to this School community.” “I envision continuing to cultivate a positive, compassionate, and close-knit community. I want to encourage St Cath’s girls to be bold and tackle challenges as they are presented with them. I want us new Year 12s to lead with gumption and unity. I want to make 2025 a memorable year not just for myself and my peers but for all of you.” |

“My vision is for everyone to dream. I want everyone to lead themselves to success. Each and every one of you is your own leader, and so you need to create a clear vision, a clear pathway for yourselves. You need to put in that effort to achieve your goals and be in that position where fortune can come your way.” |

“As we move into 2025, let’s refuse to settle for a life that doesn’t excite us. Instead, let’s pursue the life we’ve imagined, the life we’ve dreamed about in the quiet corners of our minds because that’s where greatness lies—not in following the crowd, but in daring to create your own path. So, I leave you with a quote to ponder on by Robert H. Schuller, ‘Daring to dream, means daring to live’, we all know we have the ability to achieve our dreams, the question is, are you ready to?” |

“Each of us has something unique to offer and contribute. It may be unusual or left field or unexpected even, but the collection of everyone’s uniqueness is the thing that makes this School the awesome place it is…I want us all to feel that we have a place here, that we belong and have a voice to showcase our own vision.” |

“Visions are essential for progress and success. A clear vision gives direction and inspiration, as well as motivation to take action and pursue our aspirations even in the face of setbacks. Whilst a common vision unites individuals, prompting teamwork and collaboration to achieve a common goal. By having a clear and common vision, it truly creates a collaborative environment that is conducive to progressing and achieving all of our goals.” |
